In addition to this romantic getaway nestled on a private beach is an added layer of indulgence and sophistication with their newest inclusion of The Towers at Pacifica. ⚠️ Important Note ⚠️

US Travelers are currently allowed to travel to Mexico with no COVID-19 test required, however, the CDC has issued an advisory against travel due to rising case numbers. Los Cabos International Airport only requires travelers to fill out a health screening questionnaire form and have their temperatures taken before exiting.

Upon arrival at SJD international airport, we were greeted by our private transfer shuttle arranged by Pueblo Bonito concierge services. The transition from immigration to our vehicle was seamless. The drive only lasted around 45 minutes from the airport to Pacifica. After reaching our destination, we experienced the mandatory sanitization cabins that are required to enter into the property grounds. This practice is a part of their new Pueblo Bonito Care Pledge which ensures guests and their belongings are sanitized prior to entry. Each Guest’s temperature is taken via digital reader and the whole process only lasts about 30 seconds.

Once we had completed the safety briefing and sanitization, it was time to start our vacation! We received the warmest welcome from our designated butler, Lidia, who then personally escorted us to the VIP Lounge located at The Towers. Over the next hour, we relaxed with a delicious authentic mexican lunch while our luggage was being delivered to our room. Perhaps they were finishing some last minute preparations for our arrival.

Finally, it was time to see our home for the next few days. Our suite was located on the 6th floor of The Towers at the end of the hallway with an incredible view on both sides. It was very noticeable that Pueblo Bonito takes their Care Pledge seriously from all angles as a small sign hanging from the door handle read, “Sanitized for your Protection.”

As we entered our room, the first thing we noticed was the size. Our suite consisted of a dining area, living room, spacious bathroom, bedroom and two balcony terraces.

Check out our balcony views!

Throughout the room there were plenty of sanitization products available for guest use. Lidia then reminded us we had a reservation at their private beachfront cabanas.

Note

Mask compliance is at 100% for Pueblo Bonito employees & guests.

Private Cabanas are subject to availability and tend to book in advance due to the pleasant weather year round. There are two rows that split with four cabanas on the left side and fourteen cabanas on the right side. Lucky for us we had a front row cabana on the right side. Another great addition to the Pueblo Bonito experience is contactless menus. This allows each guest to order food and drinks right from the comfort of their own cabana with a minimum amount of human interaction. Although Pacifica is an all-inclusive resort, it should be mentioned that guests have complimentary premium liquor and alcohol available to them with the VIP package at the VIP Lounge only. That being said, we totally recommend their infamous Dirty Monkey beverages with traditional guacamole & chips.

Our first night in Cabo was a treat as they had arranged a meal at their La Frida restaurant located at Pueblo Bonito Sunset. The private shuttle lasted all of about five minutes which was perfect for our 8pm reservation. La Frida was delicious and well worth the visit. Our dishes included Frida’s salad, Jumbo Shrimp and grilled Rib Eye. The best recommendation we have for this restaurant is to order the Mexican Coffee which will be an entertaining ending to an unforgettable dining experience.

The next day, we were shuttled to their sister property at Pueblo Bonito Rosé where we were greeted with freshly made margaritas and a tippie-style private oceanfront cabana. We spent the next hour ordering lunch and preparing for our next high seas adventure, Whale Watching!

The season can vary from year to year, however, the whales pass through Cabo from mid-December to April annually. We recommend traveling to Cabo between the months of January and March to have your best chance of seeing Whales. Over the next three hours we had an adventure of a lifetime aboard Cabo Adventures. Pueblo Bonito arranged a private boat ride with a clever captain, Danny Devito, who maximized our Whale watching experience. Within minutes our seasoned captain spotted two Humpback Whales in the distance.

We encountered multiple Humpback Whales, adult and juvenile, breaching out of the water, splashing their tales, and putting on a show for the tours that day. As we approached the sand, we stepped off cloud 9 and into the world of Pueblo Bonito Los Cabos exquisite restaurant. This is where the Chef prepared a grilled whole body Red Snapper among other delicious dishes.

Once we had ventured back to our Pacifica Paradise, it was time to experience The Armonia Spa! It should be noted that the Armonia was named among the three “Best” spas in Mexico & Central America in 2013 by Conde Nast Traveler Magazine. Armonia is a full service spa offering a comprehensive menu of wellness oriented body treatments, massage therapies, a fitness center, beauty salon, wet areas, and his & her locker rooms. Prior to or after treatment guests have the ability to soak in hot tubs, relax in steam rooms, or take a dip in their plunge pools. Pueblo Bonito arranged a couples massage which lasted around 90 minutes and was incredibly relaxing.

One recommendation would be to take advantage of their full service showers after your treatment as they have all the available amenities for use. That night was a special dinner they had planned called the Peninsula Baja’s Farm Experience.

This type of dining is unique as the designated sommelier and chef work together to create food dishes with wine pairings. Our first course pairing was a glass of Casa Madero Rose alongside Fried Octopus. Our second course pairing was a 2018 KUL Chardonnay with Pumpkin soup. Finally, they prepared two different food dishes and additional wine pairings for each of us. Ashley’s main course consisted of a 2017 Canto de Luna & Sea Bass, and Michael’s consisted of Rancho Mogorcito & Shrimp Spaghetti.

Suffice it to say, Pueblo Bonito’s wonderful customer service and amazing presentation has us always wanting more. Although The Towers at Pacifica holds a special place in our hearts, we would be as bold to recommend any one of their properties. There are not enough compliments in the world we can give to attest to Pueblo Bonitos dedication to customer service and their vision of providing a safe & socially distanced environment for the employees and guests. The pleasure was all ours, and we look forward to one day returning to this marvelous experience.

As American citizens we receive questions all the time regarding travel and is it safe? We would like to respond with this, we feel like we’re doing our part by wearing masks, face shields, gloves when necessary, avoiding crowds and staying at least six feet apart from others during our travels. Travel supports millions of jobs around the world and the economic devastation that is happening is unprecedented. There are plenty of people who need to feed their families and depend on tourism to do so. In this regard, we feel it is safe to travel as long as you follow the proper precautions so that we aren’t transmitting the virus and we feel very confident that we’ve done everything we can to not put others or ourselves at risk. This is of course a personal decision and we would still recommend speaking with your doctor, talking to your family and do what’s right for you. Certainly traveling in today’s world is not easy, it does take a level of planning and even having back up plans. In our opinion, it is totally worth the once in a lifetime experience. We want to thank our Pueblo Bonito family for having us and making our time an incredible experience! We hope to see you again soon!
