Our summer in the Golden State was filled with thrilling rollercoasters, delicious bites, and an array of family-friendly activities. Knott’s Berry Farm – A Rollercoaster Paradise:
Our first stop was none other than the renowned Knott’s Berry Farm! The park lived up to its reputation as a rollercoaster paradise, offering adrenaline-pumping rides that left us breathless. From riding the first dive coaster in California called HangTime which towered 150 feet over the Boardwalk area showcasing a vertical drop, gravity-defying inversions, and mid-air suspensions to the twists and turns of GhostRider, every moment was an exhilarating adventure! Afterward, we indulged in mouthwatering bites, like the famous Boysenberry Icees, Funnel Cake and mouthwatering bbq chicken and Turkey legs at Firemans!
EKO Karaoke Lounge – A Trendy Karaoke Haven:
For a night of musical fun, we headed to EKO Karaoke Lounge, featuring 16 private rooms with trendy designs. We sang our hearts out to our favorite tunes such as Blink 182, Journey, and Backstreet Boys, while munching on delicious appetizers. We enjoyed fried mozzarella sticks, fried shrimp, and Japchae potstickers! It was the perfect spot to unleash our inner rockstars and create wonderful memories through music!
Beach Boulevard Club – Dueling Pianos and Prohibition Vibes:
The Beach Boulevard Club offered an unforgettable night of entertainment with its exciting dueling pianos and elegant cocktails. Beach Boulevard Club features the best dueling pianists as they perform traditional piano bar songs across all music genres! Audience participation is encouraged with song requests and interactive sing-alongs! The highlight was discovering the secret entrance that whisked us back to the prohibition days of the 1920s. The live singers added to the vintage atmosphere, making it a night to remember.
DoubleTree by Hilton Buena Park – A Comfortable Oasis:
Our accommodation at DoubleTree by Hilton Buena Park was a true oasis. The newly remodeled property grounds welcomed us with open arms, and our room provided a cozy and comfortable stay throughout our adventure. The warm hospitality and excellent amenities made it feel like a home away from home. The property is less than one mile from some of Buena Parks major attractions such as Knott’s Berry Farm, Pirates Dinner Adventure and Medieval Times! DoubleTree by Hilton Buena Park offers a complimentary shuttle to Disneyland, Knott’s Berry Farm or anywhere within a three-mile radius.
Broken Yolk Cafe – Breakfast Bliss:
On our first morning, we started our day at the Broken Yolk Cafe, where we savored their delicious and abundant breakfast choices. From fluffy pancakes, crepes, and French toast to mouthwatering omelets, this place had it all! We ordered the famous huevos rancheros and churro French toast! It was delicious. We also tried the mimosa flight which consisted of Wycliff Brut Champagne, Orange Juice, Pomegranate, Lemonade and Grapefruit juice! The fantastic service and charming ambiance made it a must-visit breakfast spot during our stay.
Ralph B. Clark Park – Hiking Paradise:
Nature enthusiasts, rejoice! Ralph B. Clark Park is a gem in Buena Park, boasting awesome hiking trails that led us through beautiful landscapes and tranquil surroundings. The fresh air and scenic views made this outing a perfect escape into nature. After breakfast at the Broken Yolk, we headed out for an early morning hike! There were three hiking trails to choose from, two of which are more moderate (The Castlewood Trail and Westridge Chevron Hills Trail) and The Ralph B Clark perimeter trail, which is considered more of an easy route. We chose the perimeter trail but also explored the other trails and sidewalks that wonder throughout the park. A variety of recreational activities are available including large shaded picnic areas, hiking and biking trails, children’s playground areas, a baseball diamond, four tennis courts, sand volleyball courts, three softball fields, and fishing in the stocked three acre lake. There is also an amphitheater which overlooks the lake.
DPot – A Korean-Style Hot Pot Feast:
For a unique dining experience, we headed to DPot, an authentic Korean-style hot pot restaurant. We had the option to choose between beef, pork or seafood, five different broths, three types of noodles and all-you-can-eat vegetables. We indulged in the top-notch Wagyu steak and filled towers of raw veggies, fish cakes, ramen noodles, and more to cook at our table. The interactive dining experience brought us closer together while savoring the rich flavors of Shabu Shabu.
Porto’s Cuban Style Bakery – A Culinary Delight:
Our culinary adventure continued the next morning at Porto’s Cuban Style Bakery, where we discovered a delightful selection of sweets, cakes, and scrumptious dishes. The Cubano-style sandwich and potato balls were a standout, and we couldn’t resist indulging in their mouthwatering desserts. We enjoyed the strawberry shortcake, fruit tart, cheese rolls, and delicious smoothies!
Our adventure in Buena Park was nothing short of romantic, family friendly, and exciting! We are incredibly grateful to have had the opportunity to visit this wonderful destination, experiencing the magic of California love in the summer.
